Digital Accessibility
Kent Connects has teamed up with Smarter Digital Services and KCC to organise digital accessibility events, training and advice sessions for their partners. The initiative aims to help organisations comply with the digital accessibility regulations and improve accessibility for all users, including those with disabilities.
Over the summer of 2022, Kent Connects, Smarter Digital Services, and KCC organised eight webinars on digital accessibility. These webinars were well-received, with hundreds of attendees from various organisations.
To further support their partners and other public sector organisations, Kent Connects hosts the Kent Digital Accessibility Group meetings on a quarterly basis. The group provides a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the exchange of innovative practices. The objective is to ensure compliance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No.2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 and other relevant legislation.
The Kent Digital Accessibility Group is working in partnership to establish common standards, vocabulary, and understanding across their respective organisations. Through these initiatives, Kent Connects and its partners are making significant efforts towards creating a more accessible digital world.
